Levenshulme High School remains much the same though there are suggested plans for developing the site. The mock Tudor houses on the Lane still remain, adding variety to the housing of Burnage.

Shawbrook Cottage and terrace still survive opposite Burnage Library, though the road sign probably has more impact on the environment than on the speeding drivers. The Mauldeth Hotel still makes an impact on Kingsway.

All that is left of Cringle Brook at Cringle Fields as it enters the culvert which conceals its boundary line of Burnage. Yet another of the old Burnage buildings bites the dust! Another blatant disregard to the history of Burnage. This was Brook House on the south side of Cringle Brook and was later the out patients dept of the Duchess of York Babies Hospital-I had my tonsils out there.
